Science-technical and artistic projects contest of the students «Zvezdnaya estafeta»  «Relay for Stars »)  final

Between October 2006 and April 2007, Russian state science-research test center of cosmonaut training named after Yu. A. Gagarin with support of Youth and sport affairs committee of the Federation Council, Department of Education of the Moscow region governmentFund "Gvardia", charity foundation"Vzgliad rebenka" ("Glance of a baby") conducted the 5th Science-technical and artistic projects contest of the students «Zvezdnaya estafeta»which by right can be called an international.

The name of the contest in the best way possible determines the main idea of it.Relay – is a handover of knowledge,experiencetraditions from senior generation to young, detection of the most gifted kids,assistance in their interest development and knowledge extension. 

Students of schools, extended education institutions and  nonschool institutions, aged from 13 to 16 (younger participants are allowed for the contest as agreed with the organizational committee) were invited to participate in the contestProjects could be implemented by the individual student or under the supervision of adult teacher.

Organizers of the contest set the following tasks for themselves:

propaganda of the native cosmonautics achievements;
search and support of the talented and creative young people, devoted to cosmonautics;
attract the students to study and use in their works the modern information technologies;
- occupational guidance of the students.
Trends and topics of works, suggested in 2006-2007:

6. "A letter to the International space station crew" -joint project of Administration of Federal postal service of Moscow region and GCTC

During one year children of 20 Russia regionsMoscow and Moscow region were writing reportscreating projects and with great relish worked on the drawings.

Contest final started on April 3, 2007 in the International Center-Museum named after N. K. Rerikh with exhibition "United by space" openingwhich was organized together with charity foundation of handicapped children "Vzgliad rebenka". The best drawings of the contest were presented on the exhibition.

Continuation of theScience-technical and artistic projects contest of the students «Zvezdnaya estafeta» final took place on April 192007 in Star city in the context of the youth section of International science applied conference «Manned space flights». 

More than 100 contest participants came to the Star city to present their projects on six sections

During the entire flow of the contest final, guests were followed by the young organizational committee assistants – Star city school students,who answered the questions and told about the Cosmonaut training center.

Section jury included GCTC employees -Doctor of engineering science, professorKryuchkov Boris Ivanovitch,Kozlova Nina Vasilievnaand also author of «Spare planet» book Krasnoselskiy Sergey Alexandrovitch, teacher, scientific consultant.

21 works were provided for the contestand 14 projects were reported on the section sessionStudents' works were followed with demonstration of presentation, slide show and demonstration of hand made models of various technical consteructions.

84 works were sent to the historical section of the contest, 19 participants, who presented 25 reports, were admitted for the finals.

Work in section of young artists was conducted as master-classheld by Rostovskiy Valeriy Konstantinovitch – graphic artist, member of Russia and Ukraine commonwealth of artists.
According to master-class results, the best drawing was done by Molostov Alexander – student of school «Child's art school», Magnitogorsk (director Kalinkina Irina Viktorovna).
Same day in Star city Cosmonauts palace an exhibition of winner-drawings and drawings of young artists section was opened.
