Science-technical and artistic projects contest of the students «Zvezdnaya estafeta» «Relay for Stars ») final |
Between October 2006 and April 2007, Russian state science-research test center of cosmonaut training named after Yu. A. Gagarin with support of Youth and sport affairs committee of the Federation Council, Department of Education of the Moscow region government, Fund "Gvardia", charity foundation"Vzgliad rebenka" ("Glance of a baby") conducted the 5th Science-technical and artistic projects contest of the students «Zvezdnaya estafeta», which by right can be called an international.
The name of the contest in the best way possible determines the main idea of it.Relay – is a handover of knowledge,experience, traditions from senior generation to young, detection of the most gifted kids,assistance in their interest development and knowledge extension.
Students of schools, extended education institutions and nonschool institutions, aged from 13 to 16 (younger participants are allowed for the contest as agreed with the organizational committee) were invited to participate in the contest. Projects could be implemented by the individual student or under the supervision of adult teacher.
Organizers of the contest set the following tasks for themselves:
- propaganda of the native cosmonautics achievements;
- search and support of the talented and creative young people, devoted to cosmonautics;
- attract the students to study and use in their works the modern information technologies;
- occupational guidance of the students.

4. Literature-journalistic topic. «Why do we fly in space?» (note, article, interview, sketch, essay).
5. «Drawing as a gift to the International space station crew» (drawing).
6. "A letter to the International space station crew" -joint project of Administration of Federal postal service of Moscow region and GCTC
During one year children of 20 Russia regions, Moscow and Moscow region were writing reports, creating projects and with great relish worked on the drawings.
Contest final started on April 3, 2007 in the International Center-Museum named after N. K. Rerikh with exhibition "United by space" opening, which was organized together with charity foundation of handicapped children "Vzgliad rebenka". The best drawings of the contest were presented on the exhibition.

Honorable guests visited the exhibition opening: deputy to the head of Moscow public relations committee Popov A. I., deputy to the head of Department of Education section of the Moscow region government Smirnova L.I., honoured USSR test pilot Popovitch M.L., GCTC representatives, young artists - authors of the exhibited works, and also their teachers and parents.

projects contest of the students «Zvezdnaya estafeta» final took
place on April 19, 2007 in
Star city in the context of the youth section of International science
applied conference «Manned space flights».
More than 100 contest participants came to the Star city to present their projects on six sections. During the entire flow of the
contest final, guests were followed by the young organizational committee
assistants – Star city school students,who
answered the questions and told about the Cosmonaut training center.

Contest final program involved the work in sections
Section jury included GCTC employees -Doctor of engineering science, professorKryuchkov Boris Ivanovitch,Kozlova Nina Vasilievna, and also author of «Spare planet» book Krasnoselskiy Sergey Alexandrovitch, teacher, scientific consultant. Science-technical section
21 works were provided for the contest, and 14 projects were reported on the section session. Students' works were followed with demonstration of presentation, slide show and demonstration of hand made models of various technical consteructions.

- collective of students of Sverdlovskiy township school – Denisova Anastasia, Klyuchnikov Denis, Makuha Ivan, Lavrenchik Olga for their work «Moon safari».- Gornostaev Michael for his work «Space elevator as an alternative to the cargo vehicles» – student of school ¹25 Nalchik (project director Velichko Olga Vasilievna);
- Kushkhov Aslan for his work «Unmanned stratospheric platform as an alternative to the artificial Earth satellites» - student of school ¹9 Nalchik (project director Velichko Olga Vasilievna) .Science-historical section works, provided for the historical section, were evaluated by jury, which included Gevokian Tatiana Alekseevna– department manager of the Moscow Memorial museum of cosmonautics; Drevel' Andrey Vasilievitch –GCTC employee; Zakharova Valentina Vasilievna – GCTC Museum employee.84 works were sent to the historical section of the contest, 19 participants, who presented 25 reports, were admitted for the finals.

Work in section of young artists was conducted as master-class, held by Rostovskiy Valeriy Konstantinovitch – graphic artist, member of Russia and Ukraine commonwealth of artists.
According to master-class results, the best drawing was done by Molostov Alexander – student of school «Child's art school», Magnitogorsk (director Kalinkina Irina Viktorovna).
Same day in Star city Cosmonauts palace an exhibition of winner-drawings and drawings of young artists section was opened.

During announcement of results of the contest an executive Secretary of Senatorial club-house direction Suvorov Vasiliy Anatolievitch told his word of salutation, and also a salutatory letter of head of Schelkovo region Administration Tverdokhlebov Leonid Andreevitch was read.
«Zvezdnaya estafeta» contest winners were awarded with diplomas and memorable gifts. Awarding was performed by USSR cosmonaut-pilot Lazutkin Alexander Ivanovitch and USSR honorable test pilot Popovitch Marina Lavrentievna.
